On June 20, 2024, UnitedHealth Group issued a press release offering an update on the Change Healthcare cybersecurity incident that occurred on Feb. 21, 2024. While the investigation to determine whose data is impacted is not yet complete, UnitedHealth Group has started the process to notify impacted customers and shared a website that provides additional information. UnitedHealth Group continues to offer credit monitoring and identity protection services, as well as a dedicated contact center to address questions. IMPORTANT: STAR+PLUS Authorization for Services that Require the Use of EVV

Effective September 1, 2024, the new STAR+PLUS Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) contracts begin. Medicaid members may be assigned or have chosen a new MCO due to the procurement requiring the issuance of new authorizations to program providers, Financial Management Services Agencies (FMSAs), and Proprietary System Operators (PSOs).

Program providers, FMSAs, and PSOs should continue to use the current authorization for your members in the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system until you receive the authorization from the new MCO. Once the new authorization is received, it must be manually added to your EVV system.
