Annual Medicare Training Requirement

As a reminder, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) require that Medicare Advantage Organizations (MAOs) inform network providers and practitioners about the requirements to complete the annual Allwell from Superior HealthPlan Model of Care Training. Providers can access the training on the Model of Care Training webpage.

Please use this training module to better understand Allwell’s clinical philosophy and general approach to the delivery of care to our members. Providers must complete the training within 30 days of contracting, hiring or becoming a delegated entity and annually thereafter.

In order to streamline the training requirements for our provider offices, Allwell will accept proof of MOC trainings from other health plans, provided that the content is generally consistent with Allwell’s training.

Providers who fail to proactively submit these attestations annually should be prepared to submit them within 3 business days in the event of an audit. Failure to do so may result in corrective action, which may include an onsite visit, additional education or, in certain circumstances, suspension or termination from Allwell’s network. Providers are obligated to retain copies of their attestations for 10 years.
