Collaborative Care Model in Texas Medicaid Billing Case Study Videos
Date: 10/05/23
Superior HealthPlan would like to inform providers Texas Medicaid implemented a medical benefit for the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) on June 1, 2022, as directed by Senate Bill 672, 87th Legislature, Regular Session, 2021. Prior to the implementation of the benefit, Texas Health and Human Service Commission (HHSC) conducted two trainings on CoCM services for Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) in May of 2022.
To assist providers with billing and reimbursement of CoCM services, HHSC has developed a billing case study video series that is available on the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) YouTube channel and on TMHP’s Learning Management System (LMS). The case study describes how various combinations of billing codes can be used for an individual who is undergoing treatment for depression in the CoCM over the course of five calendar months. This video series has been adapted from works created by the University of Washington Advancing Integrated Mental Health Solutions (AIMS) Center.
