COVID-19 At-home Test Kits Available as a Pharmacy Benefit

Starting January 17, 2022, Superior HealthPlan Medicaid and CHIP members will be able to receive a COVID-19 at-home test kit from a network retail drug store with or without a prescription. This update follows recent Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) guidance.

The list of covered tests will be part of the Formulary Product search on the Vendor Drug Program (VDP) website. HHSC selected these products based on their rating under the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.

Members may get a maximum quantity of 4 tests per calendar month.

Please note: In the event of supply shortages at local drug stores, members may still get a COVID-19 test at participating medical offices or testing centers.
